Valerie Haimowitz
Valerie Haimowitz has been a photographer for much of her life. She worked as a freelance photojournalist in the bay area for many years. Her subjects have included the 70th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution in Red Square, Moscow, 1987, (photos published in the SF chronicle the same year), both Republican and Democrat National conventions, and many other political
Movements: anti-nuclear marches at Livermore labs, redwood summer, and many
Anti-war marches over the years. She sees her photographic work as a way to inspire and motivate others in positive directions. Valerie has studied improvisational acting with Corey Fisher of A Traveling Jewish Theatre, and Nina Wise, a well-known performance artist. She has studied yoga with Angela Farmer and her partner Victor for years.
Valerie is presently studying American Indian literature at the University of Nevada, Reno.
She loves to play the piano, and take good care of her cats.
