Rebecca Ephraim
Rebecca Ephraim,
has been in media her entire career. Now, as publisher of SharedVISION, she is applying her 25 years of experience to a new frontier in journalism. Nearly two years ago, she purchased SharedVISION Magazine in or-der to introduce the next generation of solutions-based journalism. “In many ways, I believe this is the culmination of all those years toiling in mainstream media,” she says. “I had to learn what was out of whack in order to supply what I consider an essential missing link.”
The missing link in Ephraim’s opinion is a sophisticated and entertaining publication for the modern Canadian who wants to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. SharedVISION considers all matters of sustainable life-styles to inspire actions – without moralizing – that will help us nurture a lighter footprint on the planet.
Ephraim, originally from Chicago, is a former news anchor/producer for the Chicago National Public Radio affiliate and independent reporter for NPR and other public radio networks. In the course of her media career, she has re-ported, anchored, managed and produced for various television and radio sta-tions.
About seven years ago, she cut her teeth on alternative independent media while serving as editor of the Chicago magazine, Conscious Choice, which is one of the largest local publications on sustainable living in North America. Ephraim, who is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Clinical Nutritionist, also served as Dragonfly Media’s national health editor for its chain of five magazines, which included SharedVISION. It was two years ago that she moved to Vancouver and bought out Dragonfly’s stake in the publication in order to create what she calls a lifestyle magazine that meshes the modern world with sensibilities that go be-yond our own self-centered objectives.
Rebecca is a grateful student of yoga, an advocate of integrative medicine and all things that honour the pursuit of expanding human potential.
