Julie teaches leadership and develops continuing professional education programs for human service professionals in Alberta. Prior to joining the Faculty of Social Work in 2004, Julie was with the Faculty of Continuing Education for 2 years, teaching and programming in the areas of distance education and workplace learning. This assignment followed 28 years in the student services field where she was responsible for strategic planning support, staff development, evaluation research and leadership as Director of the Student Resource Centre. Julie holds a Master of Education (Educational Administration) from the University of Calgary and a Graduate Diploma Education in Adult and Community Education. Married, the mother of 3, and a grandmother, Julie is an active community volunteer, serving on the boards of the Calgary Girls’ School, the Alberta Liberal Party Glenmore Constituency Association, and as a volunteer consultant for the Centre Point. Julie is a member of the Canadian Evaluation Society, and in her spare time, she is a marathon walker and avid gardener.
