Chris Allnutt
Chris Allnutt has been the Project Director for the Rainforest Solutions Project (RSP) for two and a half years. RSP is a joint-initiative of Greenpeace, ForestEthics, and the Sierra Club of Canada, BC Chapter, promoting conservation options and economic alternatives to industrial logging on British Columbia's central coast, north coast, and Haida Gwaii. Prior to coming to the environmental movement, Chris was in the trade union movement, being chief spokesperson for the 45,000 member Hospital Employees Union at a time when the Provincial Government had targeted those union members with contract stripping legislation. Chris was also active in the student movement in Ontario in the mid 1970’s, was a COPE school trustee in Vancouver in the 1980’s and initiated a joint union-employer occupational health and safety agency in health care covering 100,000 workers in 1998.
