Sean Moore
Sean will be presenting: TBASean Moore is a Partner and the Ottawa-based Public Policy Advisor at the national law firm of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. He has 30 years experience in public-policy and advocacy (i.e. lobbying) related to local, provincial/state and federal government affairs. He has also worked as a Washington, DC-based government-relations advisor on state & federal issues in the United States.
Much of Sean's work these days is focused on developing the public-policy advocacy skills and capacities of organizations ranging from community non-profit groups to professional associations. He teaches graduate courses on public-policy advocacy at Carleton University's School of Public Policy and Administration and the University of Ottawa Executive MBA program. He is also a member of the faculty of the Maytree Public-Policy Training Institute in Toronto.
Though not a lawyer, Sean leads a team at Gowlings that advises clients on legal and operating issues related to the Lobbyists Registration Act, the Federal Accountability Act and other laws, regulations and guidelines that govern public-policy advocacy and political activity at the federal and provincial levels.
