Seth Klein


Seth KleinSeth Klein is the BC Director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, a public policy research institute committed to social and economic justice.
Seth holds a BA in international relations and a BEd from the University of Toronto, and an MA in political science from Simon Fraser University.  He has been a social activist for over twenty years.  Originally from Montreal, he has lived in BC since 1993, and currently lives with his wife and daughter in East Vancouver.

Seth was hired to open the CCPA's BC Office in 1996.  Under his direction, the CCPA-BC Office has grown to nine employees, approximately 3,700 members, and publishes regular research reports on topics such as taxes, minimum wages, poverty and inequality, resource and environmental policy, health care, public education, globalization, and the BC economy.

Seth is a founding board member with the Centre for Native Policy and Research.  He is a frequent media commentator and public speaker on public policy issues.  He has authored numerous studies and newspaper articles.  His own research deals primarily with welfare policy.  His most recent publication is recent publication is "Living on Welfare in BC" (with Jane Pulkingham).
