Ross McMillan
Ross is the President and oversees development at the Tides Canada Foundation.
Ross was a principal architect of the $120 million conservation financing program that helped protect Canada's 21 million acre Great Bear Rainforest - the most significant integrated conservation program in North America. He also led the process to designate Clayoquot Sound as British Columbia’s first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and establish the $12 million federally-endowed Clayoquot Biosphere Trust.
As Tides Canada's Senior Associate since 2001, Ross has been integral to Tides Canada's work in conservation financing and donor contributions for environmental initiatives. He has an extensive background in strategic planning, negotiations, fundraising, and policy and program development. and 25 years of experience in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors, including work on a broad range of social justice initiatives and significant engagement with the Canadian environmental community and its financial supporters.
