George Heyman has served as president of the BCGEU since June 1999.  The BCGEU represents approximately 60,000 men and women in more than 550 bargaining units. An active leader in the labour movement for over 20 years, Mr. Heyman has extensive experience in contract negotiations, including the master contract for 30,000 government employees. An outspoken advocate of workers’ health and safety, Mr. Heyman has served as a member of the Workers’ Compensation Board Panel of Administrators and the Council of Governors for the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety.
