Exercises to Reconnect to Life and Nature
Take a few minutes every day to do the exercises below. They can deepen your connection to all life and your senses in a surprisingly powerful way.
- Make naming your intentions part of starting your day. For example, this may be being thoughtful before each meal about where your food is coming from, or noticing some aspect or quality of the natural world every day.
- Find an e-mail buddy. Make a commitment to e-mail once a week to each other, sharing something about your week that brings you a deep sense of appreciation and gratitude for this world, and something that has brought you pain.
- Take a friend or your whole staff outside for a Mirror Walk. Walk in a natural area that attracts you. Take a moment to close your eyes and use your other senses (touch/hearing/smell) to explore your environment.
