Looking for professional development that will help you construct and lead winning campaigns on key environmental and sustainability issues, as well as become a more inspired and effective leader? The Hollyhock Leadership Institute’s Canadian Environmental Leadership Program is specifically designed for people working in the environmental community, and who want to lead from an inspired and authentic place.

This seven day course features faculty from leading North American ENGOs and experienced specialists who serve that community, so you get the latest strategies and approaches from your peers. Our unique approach looks at the interpersonal, community and systemic elements of making environmental change, giving you the skills and techniques to shift policy, engage communities, and lead your team.

The program courses include:

  • Campaign strategy
  • Coalition building
  • Government and stakeholder relations
  • Communications and media strategy
  • Leadership and personal ecology
  • Creativity and personal development

Held at the peaceful and rejuvenating Hollyhock retreat centre on Cortes Island BC, participants come from all over Canada, which means you’ll find a community of peers to share strategies with, and leave with a bigger network to support your work. We believe that passion, inspiration and creativity are needed to sustain this work.  Our courses also focus on supporting and accessing those elements within us.

Who is this program for?

  • Campaigners
  • Community organizers
  • Policy analysts
  • Lawyers
