Examine the difference between blogging and reporting, and between opinion and objective reporting.
Learn about public service reporting, literary journalism and personal responsibility in reporting.
Explore questions of the future of journalism and its role in a democracy, and what makes a story solid, and what makes a story great.
Linda will act as your editor for the day and send you out on a reporting assignment. You will come back to the makeshift newsroom and write your story under deadline. Discover who you want to write for and how can you develop and broaden your audience. You will create a personal mission statement to drive your reporting and leave knowing how to interview and how to approach subjects and situations.
For all levels of writers; no experience necessary.
