Shivon Robinsong
Shivon Robinsong
has been a core faculty member of HLI since its inception, helping environmental leaders find their voices and learn principles of building harmony while building community.
In 1982, she co-founded Hollyhock, and was centrally involved in its programming and administration through 1990. She continues to serve on Hollyhock's Board of Directors.
She now lives in Victoria, where she shares her passion for singing as the founder and co-director of the Gettin' Higher' Choir, a 300-voice socially engaged community choir. As a choral workshop leader and musical animator of conferences in Canada, the US, and Europe, she has helped thousands of people reconnect with their singing voice.
Shivon believes we are all singers, and that singing together in harmony is our birthright. She sees singing as an essential source of health and vitality, and choirs as a powerful means to create empowered, harmonious community out of seemingly disparate voices.
